First Planting at Botanical Garden of the Piedmont

DAILY PROGRESS – Volunteers planted a small flower bed with shrubs and perennials donated by supporters to establish the first planting at the site of the future Botanical Garden of the Piedmont on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016. A portion of the garden, located in McIntire Park at the intersection of Melbourne Road and the John W. Warner Parkway, is estimated to be ready to open in late 2018.

First Signs of Plant Life at Botanical Garden of the Piedmont

CBS 19 – Volunteers were busy Wednesday morning planting the first signs of life at the Botanical Garden of the Piedmont.
The reality of the future garden has been in the works for many years, but thanks to the hard work and dedication of the garden’s board, as well as the City of Charlottesville, things will start to look a little more green.
