Botanical Garden of the Piedmont is excited to announce that they have met their recent $2M challenge. Visionary donor Carol Angle made a second investment in the Garden this year of $2M. There was no matching requirement for what she called a “vote of confidence” capital gift, but with her approval, the Botanical Garden of the Piedmont issued a challenge to the community to match this gift by December 31, 2024. All the Gifts to the Capital Campaign beginning April 25th counter toward the challenge.
On December 24th, the garden received a $1M gift from an anonymous donor, in honor of Carol Angle, causing BGP to surpass the $2M match just before the end of the year. The donor has approved to use the remainder to offer a $500,000 challenge until March 31st! Congratulations to BGP Staff, Board of Directors, and the Steering Committee for your hard work and dedication toward accomplishing this goal. While we take time to celebrate this milestone we still have a long way to go to begin construction in 2026 as scheduled.
