Botanical Garden of the Piedmont Meets Matching Donation Challenge

Charlottesville, VA – The Botanical Garden of the Piedmont is pleased to announce that it has met a $25,000 challenge donation from Great Eastern Management Company, a 45-year-old firm headquartered in Charlottesville that, together with its related entities and individuals, has long been interested in supporting civic and nonprofit organizations in the Charlottesville-Albemarle area.

NBC 29 – A nonprofit organization is helping out members of the Botanical Garden of the Piedmont Board to make sure the garden space looks attractive when it opens. The Piedmont Master Gardener’s Association awarded the board with $5,000 Thursday afternoon. The gift was presented at the future garden site at McIntire Park.

Partnership to Honor Horticulturalist and Raise Funds

The Board of Botanical Garden of the Piedmont (the Garden) and the Friends of Ian Robertson (FIR) announce their new partnership to endow an educational lecture series in Robertson’s name and to build a structural element in the future Botanical Garden to honor his contributions to horticulture, landscape design and education. The lecture series will be a fundraiser for the design and construction of the Garden on 8.5 acres in Charlottesville’s McIntire Park and will help with operating costs after the Garden opens. The the Garden Board and FIR formalized their partnership in March by signing a Memorandum of Understanding.
