Nationally renowned botanical photographer and artist Laurie Tennent will have her photography exhibited in the Garden for the month of September. Laurie’s work will be featured along key pathways and natural settings, blending art and environment in a stunning visual dialogue.

Bird Walk | Adults Only
Join The Garden’s head Birding Volunteer David White for a jaunt through the Garden. Learn bird calls, spot feathered friends, and enjoy the practice of birdwatching on this gentle walk. Space is limited to 12 Participants.

Story and Stretch with Regina Anderson | Ages 4-7 
Enjoy an interactive storytime with movement in nature. Please bring a yoga mat or blanket. Regina Anderson, a lifelong educator, is a certified RYT200 yoga instructor trained at Salute the Sun Yoga.

Seed Collection and Stewardship | Ages 9+ 
Join Landscape Manager Bridget Curran in harvesting seeds from native flowers. Learn about these plants, responsible seed harvesting, seed care, and create seed packets you can take home with you. Limited to the creation of 10 seed packets. You may sign up as individuals or a group creating 1 seed packet. All minors must be part of a group that includes an adult.

Bookmark Art | Ages 10+
Visit the Garden and create your own nature-inspired bookmark using sharpies, leaves, and more. You are recommended to allow at least 20 minutes to create your functional artwork!

Learn to Weave A Wreath | Ages 6+
Stop by to learn how to weave an herb wreath! Alicia of Giardino Forsesta will demonstrate one of her popular creations to decorate and flavor your season. Want to create your own wreath? Bring a handful of herbs with you to practice with. Demonstration only for those who do not bring materials. This drop-in program is open for all.

Tours will bring you up to date on all happenings and plans for our exciting public garden. Tours last approximately 45 minutes and will be limited to 16 participants.

Join Pat Mitchell, President and founder of the Blue Ridge Mycological Society, for a free Mushroom Walk in the Garden. Spot fungi and Mushrooms, learn about their unique properties, and get Pat’s foraging tips.
