Great Backyard Bird Count, in the Garden

February 19 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Did you know that every year the Audubon Society holds a Great Backyard Bird Count? We invite you to visit the Garden on Monday, February 19 from 9-11AM to join the Audubon Society’s Great Backyard Bird Count with help from our own BGP volunteer bird monitors.

The Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) is a free, fun, and easy event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of bird populations. Participants are asked to count birds for as little as 15 minutes (or as long as they wish) on one or more days of the four-day event and report their sightings online at Anyone can take part in the Great Backyard Bird Count, from beginning bird watchers to experts, and you can participate from your backyard, or anywhere in the world. To learn more, visit

Join the effort, enjoy the outdoors, and learn about the Garden’s progress. Garden tour guides will be available for questions and tours. Ask BGP Educational Coordinator Bruce Gatling-Austin all about the ongoing stream restoration project. We look forward to seeing you in the Garden!
